In this day and age, no country or company can survive without becoming globalized. There are so many things to be done if we are to achieve true globalization. As chairman Mr. Lee Kun Hee said: " We will build a new Samsung for a new era. We will devote our people and technology to create superior products and services, thereby contributing to a better global society. We will make Samsung one of the world's top 10 companies by the year 2000."

Therefore: "It's important to gather talented people from all over the world transcending the boundaries in order to stand high in 21st century as science and technology advanced country. We should make "Genius heaven" where the people from all over the world will cooperate and compete."

From 1994 our company declared "Business globalization strategy". As a part of this strategy our company established the foreign scholarship students system including talented scientific and engineering students of the elite institutes in the strategic region countries (China, Russia, India). The goal of such system was to develop in these countries student programs to select and support at the early stage the genius personnel.

Samsung Representative Office supports two student programs in Russia - "Genius Program" and "Samsung Software Membership Program"

"Genius Program" for MSU, MEPhI, MIPT, MPEI, MSTU, LGU and school #7 had been provided assistance for educational courses organization, workshops and conferences arrangements for the student of fundamental science. The program has been initiated in 1994 from the selection of 14 students. In May and December of 1997 14 new students were selected as participants of the program. They spent two weeks in Korea getting acquainted with the country and Samsung style of work. On October 3, 1997 the official ceremony of the opening of Program's new stage was conducted with participation of the President Mr. J.H.An and the representative of the Ministry of Science and Technologies Mr. G.V.Loukyanov.

Students studying computer science are involved to yet another program named "Samsung Software Membership". At the moment this program covers five universities: MSU, MEPhI, MIPT, MPEI and MSTU.
